The IEP Conference is a free event which has been held now for 12 years. This year it is will be taking place on Friday, February 27th at the Metro Convention Center on King Street West in Downtown Toronto. As we did last year, the Voice to Word team will be presenting again in the breakout groups. This time three of us will be presenting on the topic of Speaking with Confidence (see below for the description.)

The 12TH Annual IEP Conference

As the conference site explains, this conference is a “unique Canadian initiative for Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs) taking interactive learning, economic development, and stakeholder awareness to unprecedented levels. Every participant can engage in a myriad of career and personal development experiences guided and encouraged every step of the way by subject matter experts from licensing bodies, educational institutions, professional associations, skilled facilitators and successful IEPs. Hundreds of previous attendees herald this free event for IEPs as a “not to be missed” initiative, offering an innovative, highly focused and productive platform for converting career dreams into practical action plans for rewarding employment.”

“Speaking with Confidence” presented in the Skill Building Sessions

During the breakout groups, organized by professional field, three trainers from the Voice to Word team will be presenting on the following: “Speaking with impact and confidence involves much more than pronouncing the sounds correctly. In this presentation, Heather Chetwynd, Mark Prince and Julie Cohn will discuss three key areas of communication which can negatively influence clarity, comprehension and effectiveness, with a special focus on one topic. Join us for this illuminating look at speaking effectively.”
